L.I.T.C.H.I.S

Been really really long since I posted something on this space.. promised myself never to ignore this space from henceforth..

So here's what kept me company as I set forth doing the most dreadsome household chore.... folding laundered clothes!!! I bought this bunch of litchis and finished them all by myself!!! Bright red they aren't, but delicious they were!

Rustic......

A newspaper basket that I picked up from an exhibition at the Isha Foundation stall ... I love it for its rustic charm. The basket is what you see in markets mostly among vendors. With Kalamkari strips tied into it, it gives my living room a charm and most people notice the basket more than other collectibles in the room.

Whew !!!

This a view of 1/3rd of my 5 year old's toy cupboard. So imagine it in entirety!!! My once in two days of putting it in order is for some reason jinxed. However, she seems to be enjoying the mess!!! These are the days when I wish for automatic rearranging of cupboard messes.....

A memorable find...

An hour back, I was at this store that deals with handicrafts and there was this huge basket of stone figurines. I rummaged through it hoping to find something I like and sure enough found what I have been wanting for so long. What you see today is a pic of the treasure I found. It is a bust of the Virgin Mary. It is small, fits in my palm and I love the details and the facial expression.

A Sunday Lunch!

At the table above is where the three of us had our Sunday lunch amidst lush greenery. It's been over a year since I dropped by at this place. It is hard to impress my 5 year old with restaurants minus play areas. This place won her favour courtesy the swans and the ducks swimming beside her table!!

Refreshed....

A sight in a wayside nursery where I took a break during my stroll to check for any indoor plants that caught my fancy. This bunch of white flowers looked refreshed in a unexpected morning shower. It sure refreshed me.....

Wednesday 3 February 2010

Finally I got chillies off the plant.....

After days of cajoling and pampering and talking, the plant finally bore fruit!!!!!

Some more to my collection...

I have developed this recent fascination for stoles and bought these tussar ones with beautiful embroidery on them. Can't stop admiring them.

Time well utilized.

Low voltage the entire day led me into painting this on my living room wall. Just realized we are painting the walls in a couple of months!!!

A mission accomplished!

My Lil daughter was so pleased yesterday to write  numbers upto 20 sans help.

Frozen Strawberries!

I froze strawberries thinking I could prevent them from getting spoilt, because there was no way I would be using them in atleast two days. Alas when I defroze them, there was so much of water content in it, that they were all ooey gooey to the touch!  Lesson learnt.. Do not freeze fresh fruits!!!!

This day...year next?

I wonder how much of the water and the green will remain the same day the next year!

Missing out on Greenery!

Living in a concrete jungle, greenery is a rare sight. This was taken on our weekend long drives. Where there's greenery, we halt just for the breath of freshness on seeing "green".
